About DermaLingo

Growing up in a Hispanic family, I often found myself translating medical information for my grandparents. I saw firsthand how difficult healthcare can be to navigate when language becomes a barrier. That experience shaped my passion for serving Spanish-speaking communities.

As I pursued medicine and developed a strong interest in dermatology, I wanted to communicate conditions and terminology clearly in Spanish. But I found no centralized, reliable resource where clinicians could quickly find accurate translations. That gap became DermaLingo.

DermaLingo supports clinicians, students, and healthcare professionals with clear English-to-Spanish translations of dermatologic terms and conditions. Even for those who aren't fluent in Spanish, being able to name a diagnosis or describe a condition in a patient's own language can build trust, ease anxiety, and improve understanding. This matters especially in dermatology, where many conditions require long-term management and adherence.

At its core, DermaLingo is built on a simple belief: patients deserve to feel understood, especially in vulnerable moments. We hope it becomes a meaningful tool in your practice.

Core Values

Inclusivity

We are committed to reducing language barriers in healthcare by making dermatologic communication more accessible for Spanish-speaking patients. Every patient deserves to feel seen, heard, and understood.

Clarity

We prioritize accurate, easy-to-understand translations of dermatologic terms and conditions. Clear communication supports better patient understanding, stronger clinical relationships, and improved outcomes.

Equitable Care

We believe language should never limit the quality of care a patient receives. By improving communication, we aim to support more equitable dermatologic care for underserved and Spanish-speaking communities.
